"Inspiring Women of GOD In Challenging Times" was the theme of UMW 12th annual Women's Conference. The morning was greeted by 100 + women with intercessory prayer for families/relationships/the nation/our President and his family led by one of the 12-Inspiring Women of God, Marjorie Thompson. Our guests were warmly greeted by inspiring words of welcome from Pastor Jacqui King, 1st United Methodist Church of College Station
read in her absence.
12-Inspiring Women of God were recognized and presented with a plaque, certificate, and t-shirt, as tokens of appreciation for their diligent commitment to our children, youth, women, and community. Pastor Marie Nutall prayed a Prayer of Dedication for the 12 honorees.
The anointed women of God then spoke the word! Sis. Joyce Porch from EEPC gave a powerful word, she said the Lord had given it to her at the last minute. Her topic was "faith and how we can do anything through faith in God", but she added and cautioned us, repeating it several times: We are not to go over our pastor, but through our pastor. She said that faith doesn't take you higher than your pastor. The pastor prays for our success and intercedes for us, and we are not to go around the pastor, for God has placed him or her there on our behalf. Missionary Porch also encouraged us to "Increase our Faith by exercising it". She advised we must have a little faith-could be the size of a mustard seed to see us through; Pastor Angela Abney reminded us that we have to "Allow God to work through us". When we allow the love of God into our life we can work our way through any circumstances and situations we never thought possible. Let our work speak for us; Minister Diane Clark encouraged the women to always dress properly. Fulfilling our God given purpose requires one to wear the whole armor of God if you want to "Walk in Victory". The table is set, the appetizers were filling, Pastor Marie Nutall provided the main course, "Can You Dig It?" "
I Can Dig It". You have got to dig.
Days' activities culminated with a fellowship luncheon and drawing of door prizes. . .more>>
